When the world's worst nuclear disaster occurred at Chernobyl in north-west Ukraine on 26th April, 1986, the grim after effects were felt most keenly by the region's vulnerable children. The horror goes on today, as these kids grapple with life-threatening illnesses in the still highly contaminated areas of south-east Belarus and northern Ukraine.
